NYFW is every fashion enthusiasts dream! This is one of the major events on every Fashion Calendar where Designers from far and wide showcase their latest collections for the Spring/Summer season. The unique style and personality of L.A based Fashion Designer is definitely something to talk about and we are quite privileged to bring her exclusive take on NYFW as a Fashion Designer. This year, Coco was the invited celebrity guest of the Producer and she shared her Fashion Diary as well as new trend pieces to complement your wardrobe. The Haute Lifestyle got an inside look of what she wore while going from show to show.
More than the Organza morning coats, the lace cutout sheer gowns and tulli tops, Coco Johnsen showed progression in this collection . A nod to the future of fashion and vintage inspired looks: joyous and just a little bit twisted, starting with the mask make up looks, jumpsuits and unisex skunk coats.
Coco Johnsen, “I wanted to experiment with this collection and I created a few men’s wear looks for the first time “.
We created vintage style moto jackets for men with embellishment on the sleeve and a unisex skunk coat.
One of my favorite fashion icon’s once said
“Fashion must be the most intoxicating release from the banality of the world,” Diana Vreeland
The Coco Johnsen T-Shirt hit the runway at Style Fashion Week Los Angeles. In 2016 Coco Johnsen will launch additional T-Shirts, available on Ebay.com and in the Coco Johnsen store.
THE CASTING SESSION IS PRIVITAL TO THE LOOK OF THE ENTIRE SHOW BECAUSE I ALWAYS HAVE A VISION AND A STRONG IDEA OF THE TYPE OF CHARACTERS OR MODEL I WANT TO CAST.
WE ARE STANDING OUTSIDE THE BEVERLY WILSHIRE HOTEL BECAUSE THEY KICKED US OUT WHEN THEY REALIZED THAT WE WERE HOLDING A MODEL CASTING.
INSTEAD OF GIVING UP AND RESCHEDULING THE WHOLE CASTING, I DECIDED TO CONTINUE AND HELD CASTING ON THE SIDEWALK IN BEVERLY HILLS.
WE HAD THE MODELS PARADE UP AND DOWN THE SIDE WALK AS IF THEY WALKING ON A CATWALK.
WE HAD A GREAT SHOW.
From the Producers of Project Runway on Lifetime Television.
Being on the show was so much fun but a lot of hard work. As a contestant we had so many challenges to over come. When the Producers asked me what type of animal I was afraid of and I said snakes, well of course they put a snake in my sewing basket. Now that’s just wrong, but it made for a great show and was so funny.
The dress I designed was a gorgeous black & white Piyet asymmetrical cocktail dress, but I used too much of the sample stripe Piyet fabric and was voted off first! Darn it! Can’t wait for a rematch. Catch the re-runs on Life Time Television or on the 24 Hour Catwalk Youtube channel.
Check out Tichina Arnold of “Martin” and “Everyone Loves Chris” fame appearing on “The Wendy Williams Show” wearing Coco Johnsen Imani Jacket.

Tichina Rocked it ! She got a standing ovation and she looked amazing.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it’s pretty obvious that overalls are literally all over the place, and the ’90s trend is definitely here to stay. However, there are some particular pairs that we’re completely obsessing over, and we think you should be too! Becoming the next go-to staple for your wardrobe, overalls are a must-have this spring season.
Zink magazine featured the Imani Zombie jacket for the Video edition of the Sept Issue. Ty-ron Mayes, creative director and stylist for the shoot describes the shoot as a tribute to punk and The Metropolitan Museum Of Arts Exhibition. The shoot was named Paranormal Punk after the trio noticed what appeared to be a reflection of a ghost or skull in the reflective mirror on set of the shoot. The model was asked to do Zombie like movements to create the magical display she portrays in the video. Photography & Video Gail Hadani, make up artist Paul Innis, Direction Ty-Ron
Black & White
The New trend as seen on the runway this season ! Black white prints are back in all combinations , the look is timeless and a good investment for your wardrobe . Harpers Bazaar Magazine highlighted the best graphic motifs and here is an example of how to rock this flawless look.
I suggest that you add silver accessories to bring this look together and keep it fresh for this season. Check out the Coco Johnsen Silver Butterfly Cuff & the Zebra sunglasses in the www.cocojohnsenshop.com
How to wear this trend? Check out these color combinations direct from the runway . I suggest that you add Black gloves and a Black Cape coat to add a fresh fall look to your wardrobe . The Coco Johnsen ,Francesca printed color blocked floral shoe is also an excellent addition to complete this look .
Ok let’s hit the books… No really? This season it gets Retro, throw back when you return to those Varsity college years.
Do you still have your varsity letter jacket or sweater . I wore my college boyfriend’s football varsity jacket back in the day with jeans . I wish I still had that Varsity jacket now. You can shop for this look at your local vintage store…it’s ok to mix and match something old with something when you add a oversized tote bag and a chucky shoe .
